Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991 and professionally referred to under the other name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. On October 21, 2016 she dropped Pho, her debut EP for the Dreamville Records label. This was when she began to gain the attention of her peers. The album that she released as her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music on the internet in 2012 when she launched her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014 she continued to release her music on the web, including her own launched single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes, from Sweat It Out, July 21st the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to use it with Rihanna. The news was released on December 8, that she had signed with Dreamville Records. The album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat with Cozz. On October 21, 2016 her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was accompanied by EarthGang. in 2018, the singer-songwriter performed on two tracks featuring EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The first single, Whipped Cream, from the album dropped on September 5, 2018 with an accompanying music video. Then, in November, she released two singles, forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 2013 she dropped No One, and Pedigree. She appeared with Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16and later released the song in a solo version to her debut album. In February of 2019 her music video to the song was released. The song has received more than three million YouTube views within a week. In December 2018, she performed as performing as a support act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
